Fallen Shoes Review: Patriot 2 Striker

January 28th, 2011
 Black Fallen Patriot

Year after year Fallen has put out new lineups of the skating industries top shoe selections. Among the most popular of these releases is the Fallen Patriot 2. After releasing a second and improved version over the Patriot, Fallen had a hit shoe on their hands. The Patriot 2 has become known for its simplicity and comfortable feel when riding. The shoe has been a popular seller for the brand and because of this, has continued to be released in each line up with new colorways and additions season after season.

The Fallen Patriot features inner lace loops to protect your laces from normal wear and tear. It has soft and resilient action leather and a sturdy nubuck upper for comfort and durability. The medial upper offers an asymmetric stabilizer for support and ventilation holes. The foam padded tongue and collar allow for additional comfort, while the internal tongue straps provide stability.

Here are a sample of some other features:

  • Genuine action leather, heavy-duty suede, nubuck, and/or canvas upper
  • Asymmetric stabilizer
  • Lightly foam padded tongue and collar
  • Ventilation holes
  • Soft EVA insole with full length latex layer
  • Lightweight EVA midsole
  • Highly abrasion-resistant

The patriot is an insanely comfortable shoe. Fallen went out of its way to pile on features that would ensure comfort and sustainability for those long grueling training sessions. The Patriot 2 is very long lasting, with only minor issues occurring with the back supports after months of wear and tear. They will remain comfortable and sturdy throughout their lifespan and can be expected to perform for months.

The only negative talking point about these shoes are issues with the back supports. After a good amount of use the back support will have either become exposed, or snapped due to the constant abuse. This is relatively normal among skate shoes though and if you have beaten any pair up for long enough, issues like this are likely to occur.

The Fallen Patriot 2 is a great overall shoe and is incredibly humble yet stylish. Currently available in three newly released colorways, black-ops, black/lime and black/orange. Consider this shoe a great investment and don’t be afraid to add this one to the repertoire, you won’t regret it.
